Joy Tanksley

Joy has 20 years of teaching experience starting with her first career as a secondary public school language arts teacher (nine years) where she earned her National Board Certification in 2011. After deciding to homeschool her own child, she became active in the Atlanta homeschool scene with involvement in several communities and co-ops, where she has organized workshops, coordinated field trips, taught classes, and held leadership positions. She also has a background in dance and has been teaching her own dance practice, Move with Joy, in the Atlanta area since 2015. Joy has a knack for helping students of all ages feel welcomed, included, and safe in the classroom environment, and she looks forward to engaging the learners at LEAD.
